Biden’s speech today was good. He did not want to have anything to do with a people who won’t fight for themselves. That was his bottom line. We could have stayed perhaps, but not pumping money into these weasels. The Taliban survived all these years in rocks and caves, but these guys could not fight for their own land, with trillions in their lives? Something’s gotta give, and it did. Joe. Enough is enough.
I am reworking the whole thing in my brain. I am not as pissed as I was. I am not partisan on this. We did leave some behind, but how many could we have taken to the West? Millions? How many? If the Taliban have seen any light, they’ll need a whole lot of good people there. Isolated incidents are ugly, but my hope is they will not be the standard. War is ugly. The two trillion we spent there was a total fk g waste.
We tried. Very hard. Maybe in the end that place will be better under its own people. For them whatever them is. Not us. Them. It may not be all our choice, but that’s their country. Period.
Let’s fix this country. Pass them infrastructure bills. This is America. WE NEVER STOP!
