My hope is that the Taliban and ISIS destroy each other. But I am not very hopeful! It's the dream scenario.

Regardless of whether I agree with the decision to leave (you know I don't), we have to make the best of the situation we are now in.

So on terrorism, more surveillance and other security measures, probably some attacks that break through, more money invested in drones, and so on.

And on places like Taiwan, South Korea, Japan etc, military exercises and so on.

Europe is going to need to spend more on its military. A point that I agreed with when Obama made it and when Trump made it. I don't like the idea of a strong Germany all that much. But we need a stronger Germany to keep the Russians out. Hate the Nordstream 2 pipeline.

Maddow was pointing out it wasn't only the Russians that got caught up in trying to tame Afghanistan.

The majority of us wanted out, though the manner of the pullout was slammed by many.

I posted an article yesterday about hate crimes soaring here.
We have too many white supremacist's (our own Taliban) that need weeding out. And those that were part of the insurrection.

If we had kept 5,000 there. that was no guarantee to prevent terrorism.
Maybe the Taliban will decide they are better off behaving in a moderate fashion in order to be taken seriously as a governing body. That's my hope.
