I believe a lot of thermite may have made stuff, they couldn't remove, a nice puddle of molten steel, glass, whatever, and maybe removed key pieces here n there, as well as limited armaments that at one time was for the afghan Army.. Where are those commanders? Faded into the woodwork..
Destroying stuff is sad in some ways, but we surely don't want it used against us... Ever..
No matter how you may feel about how our departure from Afghanistan was done, you have to give credit to the US commanding General on the ground during the evacuation, Maj. Gen. Chris Donahue, as he was the LAST American soldier to board the LAST military aircraft leaving the Kabul airport:
