First: I think we should have never left Afghanistan completely It was a mistake. It should have been done gradually as things developed and improved. So, Joe fed up there, bigly.
Now,
To stay there it meant we would have to have more troops there, which we did last year, almost 10000.
Where would they be stationed? Good question. Baghram alone would not suffice.
We needed to get Ghani and the Taliban talking. Ghani REFUSED to talk to the Taliban, as I understand it. That was one of the conditions Trump's deal had in it. He actually refused to talk back last December, and Trump took out another 2000 troops to clobber Joe's prospects. He admitted it himself saying he "boxed" Joe. Hateful, bitter little bitch that orangutan.
So, with all these on his table Joe said FK IT, I'm gonna let them fight it out and everything in between. I'm leaving.
I say he should have pressured that fker Ghani to talk. even if it took months more. We had NOTHING TO LOSE. Only to gain. Of course, we don't now all the details, but based on those facts, that's how I see it. Joe made a hasty exit because HE WANTED TO. It's all on him. The only thing on his side is that no one expected the Afghan forces and government to collapse just like that. They thought they had time, and us leaving there would force Ghani to talk one way or another. It was a miscalculation, based on the fact that things could not be seen happening this way, but they did. Murhpy's Law.
Suck it up now.
We're out. One thing is what we need to do: Counterterrorism. The other, see if there is a way to help Afghanistan for the sake of the people who helped us. It all depends on the Taliban behavior. We got over 110 thousand people out with their consent. Don't ever forget that. They could have made it hell for us with battle casualties and such. They didn't. They haven't. So let's see how it goes from here.
Joe fked up, because he wanted to, because he got pissed at Ghani, because he thought it wouldn't have come to this.
I don't parrot talking head shit here. I listen carefully and understand what happened, and have a pretty good grip of it all, while accepting that there is much we don't know yet. But, that's what it looks like.
