I agree. They won't be defeated. But make it tough for them and they can only do small scale stuff.

I don't know why, but American presidents seem to do some strange stuff with foreign policy recently. Bush Sr abandoning the resistance to Sadam. Dubya lying us to war. Obama getting caught bluffing over the red line. Trump batshxt crazy. Now Biden allowing terrorism to reappear and stiffing US' allies. These mistakes have long tails.
