I agree. They won't be defeated. But make it tough for them and they can only do small scale stuff.

We've just left behind an arsenal and a country that is now in the hands of fundamentalists. What could go wrong?

I am very resentful that Biden played down the capability of the terrorists.

In making a judgement between least bad options, you need to know what the ingredients are that you are choosing. Pros and cons. Biden chose to downplay the downside of his decision - bigged up the pros, shrunk the costs. Big mistake from a trust perspective.

I don't know why, but American presidents seem to do some strange stuff with foreign policy recently. Bush Sr abandoning the resistance to Sadam. Dubya lying us to war. Obama getting caught bluffing over the red line. Trump batshxt crazy. Now Biden allowing terrorism to reappear and stiffing US' allies. These mistakes have long tails. Military lions led by donkey CinCs.

"terrorists" will never be defeated.

Will the Taliban team up with ISIS & AQ, that's the question.

Afghanistan consists of tribes, they don't govern as modern countries.
