A long run conclusion.

The US doesn't seem to have the knack of nation-building.

Maybe this is because nation-building is hard.

But I expect the problem is also partly that the US doesn't provide an example that others wish to follow.

The melting pot doesn't melt.

Lots of deaths by guns and no way to change the law.

Gross inequality.

Low life expectancy for the poor.

An insurrection party that is anti-truth.

Relentless sexualising of culture targeting children.

Ugly exceptionalism.

Woke rubbish.

All rights, no duties.

It may be a better place to be than Afghanistan. But it doesn't exactly shine. I hope it can become a happier place again.

The point is made by the fact that the US is telling its citizens not to come to the airport for fear of a terror attack.

So apparently the US government knows they are there. Let's not pretend otherwise.
