My local saturday morning paper said that back in 2018 an engineering report found that the pool deck was was resting on a concrete slab that had 'major structural damage' and needed extensive repairs. It goes on to say that the report also found 'abundant cracking' of concrete columns, beams, and walls in the parking garage.
The story also goes on to say that two months before the collapse the president of the board wrote a letter to residents saying that the structural problems had "gotten significantly worse" and that major repairs would cost at least $15.5million. With bids for the work still pending.the building collapsed.
