Its prolly 15 years old, and my thinking as well, it is going bad. Our heat spell is over. Amazing what a day makes , today was great outside 86* 76 inside with the lil window unit. I will be OK. Im getting another small 5000 btu unit for upstairs. Its $1300 for the new roof unit and the labor to put it in. I just dont have it anymore to be hauling stuff like that up on the roof

Nemo > I wiggled the wiring connection and shook the compressor around a lil and I got it to stop throwing the breaker and making a crazy noise.

Hmmmm. . .
Sounds like the compressor is going bad. How old is it?
I think it was last summer (or maybe the year before)
my AC unit kept tripping the breaker . . . Then it quit
altogether.

I wound up buying a whole new unit. Of course, the old
one was at least twenty years old.

Zim.
