So we allow people to keep doing something that ALTERS their minds, so they have no sense of critical thinking and lose all inhibitions and rational thought, and play Ruisian Rouleet with whether they will actually hurt some law abiding citizen who has a right to the road or sidewalk, and not to be assaulted or hit by someone who has lost all ability to think???

A betetr idea is to take a revolver with 10 shots in it, put one bullet in the chamber, spin it, and take you shoe off. Then point it at your toe,and squeeze the trigger. You will either have a toe left or you won't. Its a CHANCE you are taking, just like the one you are promelgating..

I don't know about you, but I do not like driving on the road with having people under the influence of mind altering drugs like alcoghol or marijuana or cocaine or meth or any other substance. Heck, my Percocet bottle warns of driving while using that so I don't.

Nah. IF they wanna shoot up and mess up their minds its their brain and body but it should be crimially illegal for them to ever get behind the wheel of a car and ruin the entire family's life of onem ember of it getting killed or maimed by a crackhead or any other substance that has the same effect... Just MY opinion and two half cents worth on that subject..

Everyone is going to have a different view and perspective and no one of them is absolute. This one included..

Re: “If they aren't committing a crime to finance their problem they are passing out and requiring first responders to pick em up take em to the hosp and get em all patched up so they can do it all over again.”
When they hurt someone or someone's property, they're criminals. Not before. They don't all do that.

As for their behavior causing medical costs to rise, that's IRRELEVANT. If that matters, then we'll also need to make premarital sex and homosexuality illegal - because those are two of the main culprits in the spread of venereal disease, AIDS, hepatitis and so many other medical conditions. And what about riding motorcycles? Skiing? Visiting bars? Are you really going to ban things based on their impact on medical costs?

I think you need to give that a rethink.
