This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

This reminds of an illustration was preached on this by a pastor some 35 years ago at an Easter Sunrise service at the park.. He said that the Closer we get to THE LIGHT, the easier it is for us to see the dirt on ourselves...

Isn't that the truth.. Isaiah said it like this: " All our goodness is as filthy rags". compared to the righteousness of Christ... HE is pure and sinless. We are sinful and stained...
