We can't even get them to enact BACKGROUND CHECKS!

and in Texas you don't even need a permit.

ENOUGH...

I don’t agree. The problem is lack of enforcing laws, and lack of better such laws. It is the NRA that ‘s fked things up so bad. Look at the guy who killed his wife, a known abuser who shot her before, and yet they gave him his gun back. We have a stupid problem not an “assault weapons” problem.

The AR 15 is a rifle that many use for hunting, competition, etc., the most popular rifle out there. The judge probably has intimate knowledge of it which is why he described it as a Swiss army knife.

Some 9mm pistols have 24 round magazines, 6 less than the 30 round mags most common for the AR 15. They fire just as fast. They are assault weapons too in the right hands. The guy who killed those rail yard people in CA used 9mm handguns to do it. Ban those too? When does the banning stop? So long as the SCOTUS says we have an individual right to guns, we need to have laws in place to keep them out of the hands of those who will kill, not from everyone owning them.

These debates are silly, like wanting to ban cars with more powerful engines because they can go faster., when we have speed limits and laws to guide speed limits enforcement.
