...it's no big deal, just wanted folks to know that slavery didn't arrive and depart with the South. That said, I am as opposed to slavery as anyone except maybe John Brown.

yes indeed. The entire middle east was a hotbed of slavery of all the different peoples and we can go back to al the great empires of nations dating back into Egypt where an entire nation (Israel) was enslaved. COnquering nations of the Persians enslaved peoples all over the Asian and parts of the european continents.

I am aware of the servanthood of the British people but was not aware of them actually bringing Africans to their country as slaves like they did in the colonies..
