Prayer is given BY GOD to the CHildren of GOD to communicate in close fellowship WITH HIM.

The REASON the VAIL inside the Temple was torn in half from top to bottom after Jesus said "it is finished" is because when the vail was up, onlythe Great High Priest could enter inside past it and offer up prayer for the people..

After Jesus died on the cross and the blood was spilled that vail was ripped in half from top to bottom and rwemoved by The Father Himself because the blood of Christ has now been applied to all who would come to HIM and the avenue of prayer to GOD by people is now available on a direct and one on one basis.. The power of the Blood of Christ is what cleanses from ALL SIN of every person who ever lived IF a person comes to The Lord and seeks forgiveness and repents of their sins. The word repent means to turn from or agree with how GOD sees your sins, an abomination to HIM. The BLOOD of Christ cleanses us from ALL sin if we ask in humble contrite spirit..
The BIBLE does not anywhere talk about anybody needing help praying to The LORD or anyone else being able to get in between YOU and The Savior.. THAT my friend was settled in the description above and EVERYONE has access to the Throne of Grace and Mercy directly because of Jesus...

If you really want to know where the Bible talks about praying to God I can tell you.. I can give you the references in scripture... It does indeed say that..

Anyway, let me know...or email me....

Someone claimed Catholics aren't Christians. I told the guy that he had it backwards: Christians aren't Catholics. He said I haven't studied logic. Big mistake on his part!

Meanwhile, a bunch of others joined in. The most interesting conversation was probably the one claiming that Catholics are idolaters since they pray to Mary and saints. This is a bunch of hooey since Catholics don't WORSHIP Mary and saints, they simply ask 'em for help in praying to God. When I asked these guys why praying to saints and Mary is supposedly a problem, they said the Bible says we can only pray to God. I asked where it says that and, oddly enough, not one of them could tell me. Someone eventually said, "well, it's inferred." Then I pointed out that prayer is a means of communication, and there is no prohibition against prayer in the Bible. It is WORSHIP that is restricted to God. By now we must have had 15 people in the thread and it was getting ugly.

Fortunately, a knowledgeable Catholic eventually got on board and shut everyone else down.

It's NEVER a good idea to claim expertise about a religion that ain't your own. That's my thinking, anyway.
