Re: “Unless someon knows a really good VPN that does not slow down the web and page turning....”
Yes, what you want is the free version of ProtonVPN.

But getting a fast connection takes a few attempts. When you initiate it each day, you'll probably do so with the 'Quick Connect' button. It usually will NOT give you a fast connection. You'll be able to tell because the connection will take more than six seconds to establish. Disconnect from it and you'll get the screen shown to the left. When that happens, randomly choose from US-FREE#1, US-FREE#2, US-FREE#3, US-FREE#4 or US-FREE#5. If the connection takes more than six seconds, disconnect and try again. Usually by the second or 3rd try, you'll get a fast connection.

Once you have a fast connection, keep the VPN running as long as your computer is up. You won't even notice it.

A huge benefit to using ProtonVPN as opposed to the Opera VPN is that it doesn't limit itself to your browser. ANYTHING you do across the internet will be encrypted and be associated with an untraceable IP address. This is extremely important since your computer is likely doing all kinds of things across the internet without your even knowing it.

If you want to pay Proton a few bucks, I'm sure it will get you an even faster connection. But I haven't needed to do that. I've been happy with the free version. I have found, however, that Netflix and Hulu don't care for it. That's not a big problem to me. I shut down the VPN if I want to use either of those services.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I use Opera as my my web browser and Duck Duck Go has been my searcg engine for a long time. I also use U Block Origen to keep the spying and ads and crap off my machine..

All together it works very fast and well. I think the onlything any better might be to use a VPN which does come with Opera. I tried it but the page loads were painfully slow... I will rely on all the other things I do for privacy... Unless someon knows a really good VPN that does not slow down the web and page turning....
