Re: “I went ahead and installed that 'Brave' browser.”
There are many things I intend to do but have kept on hold because most of my belongings are boxed up and my house is still too cluttered to start unpacking them. I don't want to pull out my old computers, for instance. But I intend to do just that when the new house is available. My main contribution to 'Starving Big Tech' will be installing Linux on those old systems and doing more of my work on them and not Windows.

But I don't think I'll ever stop using Windows. I like and somewhat know how to use MS Access and MS Excel. I am completely hooked on Dragon Naturally Speaking. I am similarly hooked on the Lazarus pascal compiler and a number of pretty useful programs I've written. These things only work on Windows. So long as that is the case, some of my time will be spent in that environment.

But I don't see why MAIN operating system couldn't change. In fact, Linux is exciting to me. I used to know my way around unix and Xenix and can competently program in 'C'. I love the idea of using cron to multitask, and perhaps establishing my own e-mail server so that my life history isn't available to the mail administrators at gmail.com, yahoo.com, mail.com, protonmail.com, zoho.com, etc. With linux, I can run my own mail system and NOBODY else will be able to read it. Also, linux is fun. I haven't felt that way about personal computers since the early '90s.

I went ahead and installed that 'Brave' browser.
Seems to work OK. I haven't used it enough to
have a good feel for it yet though.

(It did take a long time to download and install though.)
