I got two estimates today. For a GM hood+labor, it'll be between $1,000 and $1,100. I'll get a 3rd estimate tomorrow, then call the insurance company to ask for a bigger check.

Keep it to yourself, but I might not get it fixed at all. It's a 14 year old truck. There's no functional or safety damage, and I realized when I was driving it today that from the driver's vantage, the dent isn't even very noticeable. I'll need to make a decision. I don't think my insurance company is going to care one way or the other.
