having recently gone thru remodeling my master bath prior to my surgery, tiling is not a lot of fun. However, get CERAMIC subwa tiles for your project, not glass. Or at least not see thru glass.

Ceramic will have the color baked and cured onto it. Get a glossy finish as that means it is sealed and water will notpenetrate it.

My next question would be, what type of surface are you going to lay these on? If their ornamental then your drywall will work fine. Just make sure the wall is FLAT. If not use some leveler on it before tiling so everything is flat.

Don't ya hate it when your wife is right ??????? lol!!!!

Been there and done that more than once... lol!!!!!!

Enjoy the trip to the store.. Check out the subway tile in ceramic while you are there.....

My most recent shopping adventure didn't go so well as micro's. Nor did it involve getting out of the house, though I'll admit to having gone to a local tile store a few weeks ago in search of the perfect wall tile to act as a splash guard behind the new kitchen's oven and stove.

At the specialty store, these things are $20 a square foot. I don't need that many, 10 ft.² should do the trick. But after more difficulty than you would expect trying to find them online, I was pleased to find them on sale at Lowe's for $48.40 a box (5 ft.² per box ), normally more than $60 a box.. I ordered three, in case a few tiles break or need to be cut.

They arrived yesterday. I opened one box to make sure the tiles were okay and . . . Was immediately discouraged to see that they had a greenish tint. I want yellow. My wife explained, "It's because they're transparent."

$%^@!!!!! She's right.

Okay, the description does say "Glass," but I took that to mean that they were glassY, as in shiny. I was wrong.

These things have to be returned. Lowes will not allow them to go back the way they arrived, by FedEx, so I've got to take them in myself, the old fashioned way. The nearest store is in Concord (or Nashua, or Manchester, or Hartford - one of those 2-hour-away urban places that I detest now that they no longer come with a Chinese buffet.) Again, $%^@!!!!!

You know, my wife is quick to judge and saying it's all my fault but I've never heard of GLASS tiles. And I think they look opaque in the image above. It really ain't my fault, is it???
