It would be a stretch for me, though. I don't see a "Claudia" as being someone a married man would want to have a long-term relationship with. (And doubly true if the married man is married to the Claudia.) For me, a Claudia is more of a barroom slut... a woman who winds up in the parking lot with whoever buys her the most beer.

I think my wife's got it right. She thinks the best alternative for "mistress" is what it's been for decades: MONICA.

Yes, De ... that's currently a reasonable alternative.

I was thinking ... you know how the name "Karen" has become synonymous with a "whiny, complaining bitch"? How about we help out Associated Press and suggest they start using another woman's name as a stand-in for "mistress" ... like "Claudia"?
