They actually dropped the Sunday ban, when someone pointed out that if Republicans feel that somehow voting on the 'Sabbath' violated public morals, then they would also have to disallow voting on Saturdays since that's the Jewish 'Sabbath' and Fridays as that's the Muslim day of prayer and repentance. Also the 5:00pm closing of polls was dropped as well when someone pointed out that a lot of Republicans have jobs that require them to work until five o'clock. However, requiring absentee voters to prove TWICE that they have a legal state ID, elimination of drop-off boxes for absentee votes and banning providing water and snacks to people waiting to vote, that stayed in the law. The law also allows the legislature to take over local voting boards if they don't agree with how the final vote tally came out.
I suspect that these restrictions will be decided in the courts long before the next election.
Kill the filibuster and let’s have one voting rights law across America.
The irony is that the very same governor certified the results of the previous election and said there was no fraud whatsoever. But, he doesn’t want to get caught again with so many dem votes. He wants to make sure blacks are not going to be able to vote easily. No Sunday voting, no voting after 5 pm on election day, so people who work can’t vote, no food and water fir thise waiting fir hiurs to vote, etc.
