Well I had to buy a new tool for 2 cuts I need to make in the windshield frame, The bottom 2 boards which follow the curve in the top of the boat with a 15* angle cut leaning back. LOL I gave the guy $200 for this and of course he LIED about the condition. It kept throwing the blade. Upper wheel hardware was broke. Cost me another $126 for parts but these things used go fo around $650. so I will have $320 into it and I WIN LOL..

Anyway this is the center boards, the star of the project. I have 4 hours into this lil piece. Like before I made everything out of scrap wood first and make sure everything fits right. I will build it like it will stay, drill mount it with bolts, then brace the whole thing and take it back off and paint the boat, Then glue and refasten the whole thing.......

I decided to go ahead and cut these with my 10" bandsaw. I had to change blades to a bi-metal blade, double the teeth. This is Brazilian hardwood. Never worked with it before. Hard chit LOL..

Anyway they turned out great. I had to make 5 trips to the belt sander to get them JUST RIGHT, but they look pretty good. 1.35 hours just to cut and fit these two pieces. Gotaa love working on old wood boats weeeee

This is the scribe in place,,,

Guy that built the boat did a lousy job of following the shape of the boat. It was off by 2.5" in the center and off from side to side. I wanted the same reveal all the way around......... The bright work was beyond redoing. I had to take out bad wood and fill with speed bondo, fast cure and easy sanding. I went with Hunter green and with the mahogany windshield I will built will look great with the green. I didn't get a pic of the bottom, but it is done, and I bolted the little keel to the bottom. These race boats only have 20% of the boat in the water when they are racing, thus the position of the keel. I am having a ball with this boat..........

And if this guy is correct , what a history. I posted on craigslist asking if anyone knew this boat and who made it..........

That looks like a Jones boat made for the old seafare races on the Sammamish slough. They raced from lake Sammamish to Lake Washington down the slough and past Bothell and Kenmore.
They discontinued that event because it was so dangerous to the spectators. It was common to see 5 or more of these boats crowded across the slough when it was only wide enough for four. They would come to a turn and several boats would be launched up the banks and into the crowd !
The Jones brothers boat builders made the originals but of course the were copied by others. Jones also built a lot of famous unlimited hydroplanes going all the day back to the boats driven by Gar Wood.
If you contact the hydroplane museum in South seattle they can tell you where to look for I'd markings. They are usually well hidden.

When I built the woodie I spent a week looking at pictures to find the style I wanted for the windshield frame. I choose an old wood Garwood boat for my design. Will DO THE SAME ON THIS BOAT. I MAY KEEP THIS ONE WHEN I AM DONE!!!!!!!!!
