The EU is a prison, not a club

It's not attractive to be in, so they try to punish any country that wishes to leave.

The federalists never stop trying to create their lousy continental empire.

But the failure of the euro and the vaccine response show that the EU is a horrible excuse for an organisation. Inflexible. Too much red tape. Muddled principles.

They should have stuck with the common market. Many could have lived with that. Instead, we have this imperial organism that is like an alien blob swallowing the futures of European countries.

And for what purpose? To be big? What's the value in being big if it also means you are useless?

Let countries be sovereign. And make trade as easy as possible between them. Trade is unifying. It creates mutual dependency and common interests. It generates wealth. That is the only sustainable goal for Europe. And when the chips are down, nations are where loyalties lie. Imperial projects have always failed in Europe.
