Focussing on getting at least one dose to as many people as possible is working well as a strategy. 41 doses per 100 people of all ages (approaching 50% of the adult population - the higher risk half) are done. One dose and the risk of hospitalisation and/or death is close to zero. You may still get some symptoms but not the scary sort.
Looks like the US is doing well and the J&J vaccine requires only one dose, so that will speed things up hugely.
Now it would be nice if the EU can get its vaccine programme going. If they can get at least 50% of adults done by June, then they'll be out of the woods too.
