You are not going to find me disagreeing.

The difficulty your government has is that the country's constitution is designed to make it hard to do much. The US has been stuck on a low tax, poor infrastructure trajectory since Reagan. It's no wonder bridges fall down, roads have potholes, airports suck and trains trundle along at 30mph.

So I remain doubtful that a Dem administration will improve US infrastructure even if it wishes to. And in spite of the brilliant opportunity that a low interest economy presents. It's a shame it's so hard. But the GOP confuses the common good with socialism, and so the country's infrastructure has fallen behind.

Republicans are not going to support anything at this point.

Look, the Safety bill just passed by the dem's has support from 75% of the People, yet NOT one republican supported it... and now in many of the republican controlled states they are suing to be able to cut taxes instead of taking the money.

They are entrenched in quicksand.
