It ought to be hard to remove someone from an office they won fairly and squarely, unless the evidence against them is strong and damning.

It sounds like Cuomo hasn't got many political friends but his popularity in the state remains high enough for him to continue unless something changes. The woke brigades are proving to have less influence than was previously supposed. New Yorkers don't require their governor to be a saint if he does a decent job combatting a pandemic. And we British (at least a majority of us) are happy to be rid of Harry and Meghan and could not care less about their complaints.

Siena poll: Just 35 percent of New York voters want Cuomo to resign

A total of 57 percent of respondents say they’re “satisfied with the way Cuomo has addressed the allegations,” while 32 percent say they are “not satisfied.”

And 48 percent of voters think he can “effectively do his job.” That compares to 34 percent who say he “cannot.” On the resignation question, 35 percent of voters think he should leave office, 50 percent say he should not and 15 percent are undecided.
