A month without water: In Jackson, Mississippi, water crisis is a warning, residents say
Nearly a month after a winter storm knocked out power and burst aging water mains in Jackson, Mississippi, much of the city still lacks safe drinking water.

Jackson needs hundreds of millions of dollars to overhaul what the mayor has called "peanut brittle"-like infrastructure, including pipes that predate the Great Depression. "The next time we experience this, it will be worse," said Danyelle Holmes, a local resident and organizer.
