Looks like the US is doing double doses more quickly.

With J&J on stream, I imagine US full vaccinations will overtake the UK in the next month or so.

I think we're a bit ahead on that.

Our health secretary says 90% of over 65s and 90% of the clinically vulnerable have had their first dose. The rest are no-shows.

We are doing people that are 56-65 and not clinically vulnerable at the moment.

Second doses are going to take a while as they've discovered the first dose gives about 80% protection from catching COVID [and more-or-less 100% against death], so you get more immunity for a wider population by giving the first jab to the maximum population asap. Only very high risk groups have had a second dose.

Israel leaves us all in the dust, of course.
