I remember it very well.

Montages of newspapers celebrating their wedding are easy to find online. I saw not a single negative word about her race. And volumes that were positive.

The narrative that the royal family is racist is an invention, and particularly common in American journalism, which likes to assume constitutional monarchies are archaic and inflexible.

Actually, the queen leads a commonwealth of countries - a population of 2.4 billion - that has far more people of colour in it than white people. She is revered everywhere. And the family follows her lead.

Meghan and Harry were being directed towards a commonwealth role, which could have been incredibly valuable. But they preferred the life of luxury and celebrity and whining and virtue-signalling in California. And that is the role they are pursuing, exactly as expected.

They have no impact on the US. They damage the UK monarchy. For their own benefit.

The one thing that was most noticeable about the Harry-Meghan fairy tale was the welcome given to Meghan precisely because of her partly black heritage. Everyone was thrilled about it, including the royal family.

I seriously doubt that.

Harry was looking for a way out, Meghan helped him.

Harry knew what was expected, he was born into the royals.

I don't know what Meghan expected. She feels she was treated as the black sheep, pun intended.

I loved his mother, Diana. She died the same day as my dad.
I sobbed for HER.
My dad had suffered with Parkinson disease for decades, so he was finally FREE, no tears.

I wish them well, but they have no impact.
