I think what this means is that if you had, say, a one in ten chance of being hospitalised with COVID before vaccination, you have about a one in 200 chance after.

That means hospitals can focus resources on many fewer patients, and that ought to improve outcomes for those who are hospitalised.

Plus, it means people with other conditions will get treated.

Changes everything really.

One dose on its own.

Two doses and things will be even better.

Probably very similar results for the other vaccines. Now what we need is expanded manufacturing to vaccinate the world.
