If the EU needs to make up for its shortfall, maybe it should ask Israel for help. They seem to know what they are doing better than anyone.

No one wants to see Europeans die. They should seek help figuring out how to solve the problems they have created for themselves.

and its attempt to nick the UK's large number of doses of vaccines, ordered 3 months before its own contract was signed, shows the EU as it is.

Bureaucratic, contemptuous, bullying and contemptible.

If they had signed a contract when the UK did, and sorted out their own manufacturing facilities, they'd be where the UK is. But they slow-walked vaccine approvals and waited to see if the vaccines worked before signing contracts and setting the manufacturing wheels in motion.

When there's a pandemic, do things in parallel, not in sequence. A 3 month advantage is enough to save tens of thousands of lives. Trying to shift blame for failure, or to pirate the UK manufacturing programme reveals the culture of entitlement and arrogance of the EU at its worst.

We got out just in time.
