The number of new cases in Spain suggests to me that they have the Kent variant there too. Its the steepness of the slope that reveals its presence. Also the third wave. Have only seen it in the UK and Spain.
Looks like Britain's latest coronavirus wave created by the Kent variant has peaked for the moment. New cases are way down from 37k on the 18th to 22k yesterday. Deaths are still happening but the peak lagged as one would expect. As well as efforts at isolation and general mask-wearing, vaccination may also be helping as we have more than 10% of the population done at this point [although the protection it offers takes a few weeks to start being effective].
