This is the YouTube video that Dr. Jill Biden saw that led to the President-elect inviting Amanda Gorman to recite an original poem at his Inauguration. This video was made in 2017. Note how much her ability to speak has improved since then. Amanda was a twin and was born premature. Her and her sister both suffered problems due to their early birth, in her case, a speech impediment where she was not able to pronounce the sound of the letter 'R'. She also suffers from a hearing disorder, not a hearing lose, but the opposite, a hypersensitivity to noise. She was a special-ed student who had to work for years to overcome the problem and she has used poetry as therapy to teach herself proper enunciation:
