Moderated speech works better than unadulterated speech.
Lawless forms of speech, such as incitement to violence and political propaganda are, in fact, harms.
That's why the "free speech" mantra doesn't work when interpreted to mean "without restriction".
I understand why the poor saps attacked the Capitol. They were defending the Republic. It's just they did so because they are fed bad information relentlessly. And so they have come to believe it.
But there's a reason Trump lost over 60 cases in the courts, regardless of the politics of the judges. It's because the facts presented were false and/or unpersuasive. The election wasn't stolen. Biden won.
And yet that same fake evidence is presented on social media as if it is robust. From there it is converted into violent actions.
Sad to watch.
