The rumor is if McConnell has to, in order to keep the Democrats from voting for the $2,000 stimulus money, he'll add a rider to the bill that allows Senators to submit alternative slates of presidential electors from their respective states that the Senate will then vote on whether to accept them or not. He knows this will kill the bill and make Trump happy.

BREAKING NEWS

Senator Mitch McConnell sidestepped a vote on $2,000 stimulus checks, adding the Senate may consider larger payments but only tied to other issues.
Tuesday, December 29, 2020 1:15 PM EST

Mr. McConnell, the majority leader, said that the Senate would “begin a process” to consider bigger payments, along with two of President Trump’s other demands: protecting election security and removing some legal protections for technology companies.
