Looking forward to the Biden administration NOT claiming that the US sets a moral example for the world, or that it is a beacon, or a city on a hill, or that it is exceptional. or that it is the greatest country on earth.
I look forward to Biden recognising the reality that the US faces the same issues as every country does.
Normalise. Try to be the best you can be. Accept that sometimes things go wrong.
There is no pulpit for the US to step up to. Address the world humbly, acknowledging the experience of having made some impressively awful mistakes and people will admire the US so much more.
No country should depend upon being seen to be superior to its peers.
