I once got two speeding tickets on the Taconic south of White Plains, going home north at 4am.

I left the city fully loaded, and was too tired to put on the radar detector which I had in the trunk, because those days in the 80s were not the best for keeping your parked car not broken in. So, as I was by the reservoir doing about 105 mph, I saw a state trooper parked on the side about 200 yards down, hit the brakes, and he got me for 92. He gave me the ticket, and left ahead of me. I still didn’t bother getting that radar detector out. So, about 5 miles down the road, I was passing a car doing 72, and there was that fker again. He came to the window, looked at me and said “some people never learn”.

To make the long story short, I sent in the tickets not guilty, two different town courts, and a few months later when I showed up, he didn’t, cases dismissed. The Yonkers judge said “I am very reluctant to dismiss this ticket because of the high speed involved.” Little did he know it was much higher.

Despite all that, I never had an accident, never even nicked anything, used to drive very fast, and still do for a few minutes only occasionally. The first time I ever went 90 mph was before I ever had a license in Brynmawr PA driving my girlfriend’s brother’s muscle car. Then drove her and her mother to the other brother’s barbeque like a limo driver. Her mother loved the way I drove. LOL.

I got my license .....a year later. Didn’t own a car. That’s what I loved about America, the ....freedom. Now, you are being watched.

I love my current Golf R. Once in a blue moon, I go out on some twisty country roads up here, switch to race mode, and get it to the point where vertigo and nausea begin to appear. Only for a few minutes, but it moves the blood like nothing else, white knuckles.

45 Tickets, is that a record for one person?

MONTGOMERY, NY — An Orange County man was issued 45 tickets following a high speed pursuit and a crash in the town of Montgomery, police said.

The New York State Police said troopers saw a white 2015 Mazda CX-5 with a Georgia license plate traveling on Interstate 84 in Montgomery around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Mazda was traveling at a high rate of speed, and troopers initiated a traffic stop.
