It's a shame. Instead of placing one's eternal soul into some brand name RELIGION, the BIBLE only talks about placing your faith in one person who is able to destroy both body and Spirit, Jesus Christ. People are not saved from Hell or eternal damnation by ANY church of any name or any clergy person whether that includes a Catholic Priest, Methodist minister, or Baptist Preacher and anything else..
So, the Word for OCU is who needs to come to the only ONE who left Heaven's Glory in complete Obedience to God the Father to take upon Himself the form of Human Flesh, lived a sinless life, became a sacrifice for ALL human beings by making that Blood atonement which does not "cover" sin like the earlier blood sacrifical offerings of the Old Testament, but rather HIS PURE DIVINE blood CLEANSES sin and removed it as far away as the east is from the west. Christians are not perfect and still sin.
The GREAT news is that they are indeed forgiven of those sins when they come to JESUS in simple childlike faith and ask forgiveness. Until that happens, OCU and everyone else is on their way to eternity in Hell and then after the thousand year reign of Christ on Earth, those in hell will be brought before GOD the Father where they will be judged and sentenced to the Lake of Fire for the rest of eternity.
Salvation is of the Lord and Him Only. Not by any church or religious group or human being. It is only through Faith in Christ and his Saving grace that transforms us from a path that leads to destruction and eternal fire to a path that leads to a HOME HE built for us by HIS power in GLORY to be with HIM forever.
This is what the BIBLE tells us. It is in raw form and not filtered because Salvation is only of the Lord by us coming to him, confessing our guilt of sin, asking forgiveness and for HIM to become our Lord and Savior.
It's free to US and to all who would come believing that HE IS and is a rewarder of those who diligintly seek Him.
I would love to have that conversation with OCU so that he can become a resident of Heaven ! Unfortunately too many people are led astray from the simplicity of The Gospel message of Christ by traditions of Churches that do nothing for people for eternity. Butthey get a false sense of security and when they realize they placed their faith in a MAN or a church and NOT in The only Savior, it is too late...
SO I share this message of HOPE and Eternal Life in Heaven with anyone and everyone I have opportunity to, including a Catholic Priest I was sahring an elevator ride with about 25 years ago. He accepted Jesus as his Savior and was so happy afterward..
