Not even close....It was a guy named Ceaser something, in Prohibition days , had 2 restaurants. one in San Diego, and one in Tijuana. All the movies stars would go south of the border to party and get drunk, and the shop ran out of food. He had Roman lettuce heads and went to extremes to make them really good. You got 4 leafs, sauteed in his sauce with parmizon cheese and other goodies. According to Anthony Zimmers , delicious destinations I watched for 4 hours tonight LOL...

I remember when it happened. It was comedian Sid Caesar's preferred meal following each of his nightly performances at Schmuckle's casino (later renamed Caesar Tahoe casino) in Nevada. In his honor, they named the salad after him.

I have no idea why the casino was renamed as it was. Probably something to do with Augustus or Nero.
