...as always I am lazy and am looking for a shortcut. Something that requires little thinking and I don't want to tire out my clicking finger as I may need it to change channels on the tv.

...speakin of tv's and things that don't work like they used to, when mz ribit comes into my office and seizes my remote control as is her inalienable right I am able to hear the program I was previously watching but the screen is entirely taken up with a full list of what we are missing on the other channels.

Ribit > ...there is a recycle bin associated with C drive and I have a E and F as well. That's where I keep the files. If I delete anything from the C drive it goes into the recycle bin and I can shred it. If I delete anything from the E or F drive I can go to the recycle bin and see it. If I shred the recycle bin it comes back and tells me that shredding is complete. Look back in the recycle bin and they are still there.

I believe you are right Sire.
Looking at the windoze explorer . . .
Open to the external drive - - 'Organize' up top . .
Click it with the mouse, and select 'Folder Options'.
Select the 'View' tab. Turn on the 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives'.
Un-check 'Hide protected operating system files'. Apply and I now have
a light yellow folder titled '$RECYCLE.BIN' in the root directory
of my external drive.

I just deleted two sub-directories in mine.

Go back and uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'
and re-check 'show hidden files'.

If this does not work, I would try buying a second external drive,
copy what I want to keep, then re-format the first external drive.
Then re-copy the stuff to the first drive.

Zim.
