Yesterday against doctors recommendations, I moved all the furniture in our guest bedroom, and shoved it, lifted it, took off some fastened moldings on the walls, repaired a few spots from where the foundation settled a little from lack of rain this summer, and patched it all up, and then painted 2 of the 4 walls. I have enlisted my nephew to finish the other two bedroom walls a little later and will just pay him to help me. That being said, I had time to watch college futzball starting late afternoon.
My observations are:
1. Once again the pundits all show their bias for Notre Dame and have them very much over rated.
2. North Carolina was the fifth ranked team in the country? Really? Oh my. These people who rank teams really have no clue. Beaten by Florida State.... Oh my. This was the number 5 team in the country supposedly. I guess they really weren't...
3. A couple more SEC over hyped teams. Tennessee and Auburn.. Congrats to Kentucky who actually have rebuilt a pretty good team and tore Tennessee a new one.. Auburn? Wait till next year, maybe...
4. Alabama. What can you say? Them and Clemson are the Gold standard. WHile I love the Bucks and my local Bearcats (who are also over rated), CONSISTENCY year in and out is the hallmark of these two programs and by which all others should be measured.. North Carolina is not remotely close to being a top tier team yet. Neither is Notre Dame. The Georgia Bulldogs were simply overpowered by the Tide especiallythe second half of the game.. I had hopes the first half that this kid named Stetson maybe could lead the Dawgs to victory but the over all greatness of the Bama Lines on both sides of the ball plus their talented wideouts and running backs and very good QB were just too much for the Dawgs to keep up with. They tried.. They gave the TIDE a hard fought game. But it ill take another team who has as many outstanding athletes in all those positions to be able to withstand the grind of an entire game against Alabama and win. Clemson at the moment is the one team that I can say is tested and can do that... The Buckeyes are untested and have shown NOTHING on the field of play as of yet... They have one of the best teams ever on the roster and lots of returners from last years excellent team.. But that all has to get put to the test on the field, and the Big Ten has some very BIG teams like Wisconsin and Penn State that rival the lines at Clemson and Alabama the Buckeyes must go against yet.. I hope they are as good as advertised but until the game is played, we won't really know... The vote casters have already be extremely wrong so far on lots of others so only a few games will actually tell whether or not the Buckeyes are for real... I do know they are very BOG up front on both sides of the ball so they won't get pushed around by Bama or Clemson.. Should yet be a semi-interesting year...
