An ordinary Burpee radish that's supposed to look like.... see photo, below. But leave 'em in the ground and they just keep growing!

I've had old radishes before. They tend to get hotter with age, and tough too. My guess is that this one will be like chewing on tree bark.

I've never heard of 'Gabi' but if you tell me a little more about it, maybe I'll plant it next year. I DID try growing the yard-long "Asparagus" green beans you recommended. They didn't do well... growing slowly and hardly producing any beans. Even the few that I did get were barren of harvestable seeds. Otherwise I'd try growing them again next year in a different location. (I had success with the same type in California.)

Meanwhile, the "Kentucky Wonder" green beans I grew on the same trellises did extremely well. I'll be growing them again next year, hopefully in far greater quantities. (Some of these hybrid seeds can't be harvested and re-planted. The seed companies have bred that ability out of them. Next year will tell the tale.)

I made the mistake of thinking they was collards
cooking one day and ate some . . . They were not
collards . . . but they didn't kill me either.

And then there is 'Ampalaya' . . . Also known as
'bittermelon' . . . I'm scared of that one. But I
like the way ampalaya and setow beans go screaming
up the trellis in the heat of the summer.
