New Covid-19 cases surge in Midwest as the weather cools down and resistance heats up
Covid-19 cases in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin have jumped more than 25 percent in the last two weeks, compared to the previous period. Minnesota has reported more than a thousand new cases for six days in a row, something that hasn't happened since the start of the pandemic.
A top public health expert in the region said the change of season and an increased reluctance to take proper safety precautions figure in the troubling trend.
