Borough Park protest organizer claims Trump campaign urged them in robocall; Trump denies involvement
A robocall purporting to be at the behest of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign directed hundreds of Borough Park residents to take to the streets earlier this week in what became violent protests, according to the recording, which was obtained Friday by the Daily News.
The man on the call, who uses the name Chaim Hersch Golderberger, says that people in touch with Trump’s campaign are "urging everybody to come out with signs: ‘Cuomo killed thousands.’”
“Come to 13th Avenue and hold big signs — ‘Cuomo killed thousands’ — as many as possible, as big as possible,” he continues. "The Trump campaign is urging us to hold as many and as big signs as possible. Please send this message around. Make it go viral.”
A spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, Samantha Zager, said in an email message that the campaign “had no involvement with this.” Zager attempted to go off the record, which The News declined to do.
Gov. Cuomo slammed Trump for his campaign’s purported involvement in the situation.
“The Trump campaign wants to inflame divisions,” Cuomo said Friday morning. “Meanwhile, they’re putting peoples' lives at risk. Twenty percent of the cases coming from these districts. Some of those people will die. What’s the Trump campaign saying? ‘Play politics, play politics.’ It’s disgusting.” ...

A “robocall” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo blamed on President Trump that he said encouraged violence in Brooklyn over a recent crackdown because of Covid-19 was actually a voice message made by a 24-year-old man as a prank that he sent to two friends on What’s App:

The individual is 24-years old, and left the message for two friends on “What’s App.” Says it was not a robocall. He was just messing around with friends.

Samantha Zager, the deputy national press secretary, says: “The Trump campaign had no involvement with this call.”
Also, the robocall is true and people should carry these signs anyway:
