many people have written about that very point. It makes it difficult for a nation's peoples to rise up against tyranny and overthrow abusive, tyrannical government and their fighting forces if they at least are not equipped in some kind of similar fashion. I reaklize this was worded back in the late 18th century when we did not have such advanced weaponry for military statndard issue as we do today, but one easily gets that if you have no choice, and it is well documented that Ben Franklin tried his very best to avoid a war with England, then you have no choice. You either become enslaved or ypou fight for your freedoms and rights....

Just what is this rifle?
My first guess is an M1 carbine from WWII.
I do not see a lever action like a Winchester . . .
Nor do I see a slide. Meaning it is at least a
semi-automatic.

I bet that round thingie where the rear sight is
is one of those flip up sights for long range shooting.

And, if memory serves me correctly, the 2nd Amendment
does not say 'hunting rifles only' . . . it does have
the word 'militia' as in a 'Peoples Army' and such
a thing should be armed at least as well as any
standing army.

Just my opinions.

Zim.
