That was certainly true of your marriage licenses, wasn't it?

Government should have stayed OUT of the marriage business. Couples could have attained the same legal status via business partnerships, and that's how government should have approached inheritance, adoption, alimony, etc. This would have avoided the resentment so many Americans now have about the abomination of gay marriage. But government is what it is: A colossal screwup. It never does anything right.
