Sire

I checked and discovered a couple interesting things.
Remington is 171 years old. That's a longtime in business.
Colt is about 165 years old if my memory is serving me right this morning.

Sturm Ruger is 71 years old making firearms and is a U.S> manufacturer..

So the other guys are about 100 years older and have more experience.

will tell you my 9 MM P95 which is not made anymore is very nice. It is heavy and very stable to fire with almost NO recoil uplift.

If ya were to use Plus P rounds and combine them with Federal AST rounds, say 124 grain, ya wold be using the same stuff most cops have. The AST is a hollow point and the plus P gives the bullet extra boost..

I have both 147 grain and 124 grain JHP+P for that pistol. About a thousand plus rounds.. I need more Magazines....

...my feeble old mind just seems to slip a cog once in awhile. Im not all that fond of winchester. Their ammo is good but the winchester 30-30 struck me as a piece of junk. The Marlin 30-30 made 50 years ago is a helluva lot better rifle than the winchester. It is also a helluva lot better than the marlin 30-30 made today.

Ruger? New guys on the block

Colt? I put COLE in the original post, but meant Colt

S&W? I thought I put that in but maybe not.

Beretta also makes a good handgun. The 92 is great except that it is entirely too heavy to shoot a 9mm bullet. They make it in a .40 but it's still too heavy for that. I am told that the 9mm version was implemented because the women in combat was askeered of the recoil and noise of anything bigger. FBI adopted them and discovered they were insufficient to go after thugs using body armor. I always thought of a 9mm as a gun to be used by a meter maid. The ballistics on it show ya that it is no better than a .38spl.

...I have a .40 Smith and a 1911 .45 Got rid of my other handguns.

...Kimber makes a great .45 if ya like any of the new ones. They are really gun and Kimber is really proud of them. It shows up in the price tag.
