I may have told this before . . .
But one of the sadder things I've seen in my life. Many years ago now I
was in the company cafeteria, and I overheard two black girls talking
about a third black girl. One said "She would make a great secretary
if only somebody would discover her."

My first thought is that secretaries are not 'discovered'. If one wants
to be a secretary they go to secretary school and get the necessary
skills, then read the help wanted ads and apply for the job.

My second thought was that was the way things were done down on the
plantations where 'ole massa' decided what everybody was supposed to
do . . . But that is not the way things are done in a free society.

I just kept my mouth shut and minded my own business.

Makes no sense..”It's because since 1960, only the Kennedy and Johnson administrations did anything for blacks. Republicans treated blacks as a lost cause. I am VERY happy that Trump has changed that. He's reached out to them with significant new policies and I think there's going to be a big change in the way blacks vote. They aren't stupid. They know that it's been 50 years since Democrats have helped them.

It's about time someone did that. There's no denying that black Americans have been in a horrible situation for hundreds of years. Some of it has been their doing, and some of it has been our government's fault. Blacks in most other countries don't have the problems the ones here do. If you ever run into blacks from Africa or the Caribbean, you'll find that they're great people. They don't have the thug mentality that so many American blacks do.
