Although it's a contagious and deadly disease, containing it really isn't that hard of a problem. Everyone knows what has worked. Hand washing. Masks. Distancing. Isolation.
Only a total idiot could have done as badly as Trump for as long as Trump. In Italy, Spain and the UK, it hit so fast there was no time to defend against it. But the US had time. With the exception of the northeast, it just didn't do what was needed. In fact, Trump did basically the opposite.
The good news is, Brazil has an even bigger idiot in charge. So the village idiot has a companion.
