I am pretty well convinced a lot of the source of the pain I still have is coming from my hip area on both sides.

...could be the hips, could be the lower spine. My problem happened to be both. The pain you described above is what I had with my recent bout of complaints. Doctor wrote me a prescription for Gabapentin (300mg) twice a day. Took about a month but the pain is gone. Might be temporary, but it don't hurt today.

Good counsel sire.
The reason for the shots is to reduce or eliminate the need for narcotic pain pills.

I prefer to treat the source of the pain which I have done for the past 15 years.

I am pretty well convinced a lot of the source of the pain I still have is coming from my hip area on both sides.

Ever have this before?

My thigh will go completely numb while standing or walking, and then it will begin a searing burn from top of thigh in center and go downward. Only does this when I am standing or walking putting weight on my joints.

On my right hip area, I get sharp stabbing pains from the outside of the hip area and some from far right side of lower back area close to the hip. I suspect that is coming from the arthritis having crept to the hip joiont area itself.

Its never been MRI'd so I am thinking about asking a Orthopedic surgeon whom has replaced my wifes knee and also does hips to see if he could send me for an mri on both hips.

I do not know if they can clean up the arthritis causing problems or if they wind up just replacing the hip joint.

I prefer the cleanup on aisle ten method. But if the joint is deteriorating I would be okay with replacing it.. Or both...
