To some extent, it's an occupational hazard for a reporter, and while it's true that Woodward was writing a book and not an item for a newspaper, writing for a newspaper was where he learned his trade. And remember, he's still listed as a 'reporter', employed by the Washington Post.

He claims it dawned on him in MAY that Trump had downplayed the virus, etc.

Well, and it’s all true, but why didn’t it dawn on him as it was happening just days after Trump told him he was downplaying a big problem, and just days later he had those big campaign events with his unmasked sheep feeding them grass of the kind “It’s a Democrat hoax”?

Woodward would have really performed an act of service to the country if he had spoken out about it when it mattered. He just shut the f up. Was he afraid he’d lose the access? Probably. No one believes that the whole thing lit up in his brain MONTHS LATER. He’s another weasel in Washington. He FAILED TO CALL OUT WHAT HE HAD WHEN HE HAD IT!

Another reason could be he waited until he could make money from a BOOK! Don’t buy it!
