I awakened at 4:30 a.m. and quickly went out to kitchen and got the coffee going while I washed and shaved and dressed. I was on a frantic timetable to leave the house at 5:15 a.m. to go about ten minutes to the Dunkin Donuts store for three dozen donuts, go pick up my nephew who is 26, and head up to Cleveland to see a client up there.
His job was to help drive and get me back.
Another good kid.
We had a great time talking all the way up and he enjoyed seeing the manufacturing of the Fencing and railings these guys do as well as the finishing of the products that I oversee. I met my chemical friend there so we could consult with the owners and see how things were going and discuss any changes for the future to make a slight improvement in the prepartion for the powder coating.
Afterward, Brett and I headed up to the shores of LAke Erie at a marina in Geneva by the Lake, Ohio. We spent around an hour and a half there walking around, looking out to the vast inland sea called Lake Erie, 60 miles wide by 240 miles in length and depths around 800 feet.
Yep, its big. Pales in comparion to Lake Michigan, Huron and Superior, but when you are standing next to it and looking out to the horizon and all you can see is dark gray water, its like being at the Ocean.
We walked around the Marina and talked with some local boat owners there. One had a 26 foot cabin cruiser who was getting ready to go out on the Lake. It was fabulous. We did not have time to go with him or I would have.. After awhile we headed back home but stopped at an Amish dry good store in a town we went thru. We toured it, had some sub sandwichs made there by them, bought a pound plus of FUDGE of different flavors, something called Birch Beer (like root beer) and a couple of souvenirs and headed back.
Arrived back home around 7:30 last night. Brett drove the entire way back and I was glad.
Really enjoyed our conversation with him. He is a lot like me, with the same type of inner drive that is non stop and wanting to accomplish things.
So I had a blessed day until I went over all the info my wofe had about her sister and how fast things were happening. So we are a anxious and concerned and yetthere is little to noting we can do except be available to help any way we can and pray.
But it was a wonderful day spent with my nephew.
Family is what life is all about and serving And pleasing GOD.
